Vacansoleil applies for suspension of payments
Today Vacansoleil applied for a suspension of payments at the Dutch court. A trustee will work with the management to look at future options for Vacansoleil's activities.
Tour operator for camping holidays Vacansoleil has been under severe pressure in the recent period. Historically, the company carried a high debt burden. In addition sales of camping holidays collapsed during the Corona pandemic and additional financing had to be raised. Over the past months Vacansoleil ran into problems due to a combination of increased interest rates, inflation and the need to repay Corona debts.
In recent years, various measures have been taken to reduce debt, reduce costs and increase turnover. Also a possible buyer has been sought in the past period. Negotiations in this area failed at the last minute. Further options will be explored together with the trustee.
